"There is no one on earth more deserving of help than a good dog who has given its heart and soul to its family and then lost its home." — Annie Simon |
CCRT is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers and every penny raised goes directly to helping dogs in need. Today, we need your help more than ever due to a record number of Chihuahua’s in our care. In the past year, this has included 3 females that were surrendered to us already pregnant. They went on to receive excellent veterinary care and had three litters of puppies, who have all been adopted into loving families.
The CCRT is proud to participate once again in Woofstock, an enormously fun weekend and a great opportunity to meet with all of our dedicated volunteers and wonderful friends. Woofstock is North America’s largest outdoor dog festival and for the 4th year in a row, CCRT will have a booth at the event. We are especially eager to see our newly-adopted dogs and their new forever families. Whether you are a Chi owner or not, whether you're a new volunteer or an old friend, whether you live near or far, we encourage everyone to attend the biggest and most crucial event on the Chihuahua and dog rescue calendar.
Woofstock takes place the weekend of June 7-8 from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Come early on Saturday to get a head start on this magnificent celebration of dogs and their owners.
Front Street, a four-lane boulevard will be closed for the festivities – from Jarvis St. past the famous Flatiron Building to Yonge St. We will also be taking over Market St. south of Front St., and Wellington St. west of Church, and Church St. from Colborne St. to The Esplanade.

Woofstock is in the lively, historic St Lawrence Market located in downtown Toronto, so this is the perfect occasion for Chihuahua and dog lovers to come and enjoy a weekend in the city. Whether you live in Toronto or want to make a weekend getaway of it, you won't want to pass up the opportunity to take it all in.
** Doggy-Daycare and the Market: One of the exceptional features of Woofstock is a special enclosed and monitored area where your dog can stay while you explore historic St. Lawrence Market and its appetizing collection of vintage food shops.
The CCRT is proud to once again work with our fellow rescue groups to put on the Rescue Me Walkathon. Taking place on Sunday, June 8 at 11:00 am, this is our biggest event of the year. We rally with over 20 other canine rescue groups at the Woofstock site and set out on our 3 kilometre walk (1.5 for senior/less active dogs) in support of Chihuahua rescue.
If you would like collect pledges for CCRT (you do not need to actually be in Toronto or participate in the walk to help us raise money), please download a pledge form here. All pledge forms must be turned in at the Rescue Me Walkathon booth on the day of the event or snail mailed to the CCRT by Friday, May 30th, 2008 to the following address:
