2011
We adopted Daisy on November/ 10/, 2011 after we saw her on the CCRT adoption site.
After visiting her, a quick home visit from CCRT and quick response from a nice lady Terry and we were on our way to pick her up. We were so happy for bringing our new girl home :)
Dasiy is very playful and keeps us active and entertained with her playful behaviour. She enjoys her new cozy home and bed and her tons of new toys :) all the time on the carpet chasing her new toy and chew her yummy treats , and is very curious about what we are up to at all times and very smart girl she already in love with us :).
Daisy has settled in very well and we are very happy with her.
We would like to thank everyone at the CCRT, especially Terry, for making this experience so positive and for giving us this Love to our life :)
Dasiy will be happy with us till end.
Thank you CCRT

2011
It started innocently enough: would I foster a Chi who had been found wandering, ended up in shelter and was now in need of help? Reg, older, more sedate Chi already ensconced would need to share his home for a while. I was a bit concerned but agreed. A very small (1/3 Reg’s size) Chihuahua arrived looking terrified of everything. The three of us went for a walk and then came home. Reg was a bit surprised when this little white and black bundle followed us up the stairs and into the house. He was even more surprised when she was still there in the evening. And there she was in the morning. What was going on?
I started to call the little dog Beatrix, Bea for short. She cowered, she shivered, she would hide at the least movement or sound. The concept of play scared her so much she’d hide under the couch or below her blanket. Very gradually she started to relax and then people noticed her on the website. Possible permanent families began to call. Bea was still too nervous to raise her tail but her pretty face and small size made her desirable.
I was beginning to wonder if she’d ever feel comfortable and then one day, she showed me a careful wag of her tail. That was it. I realized that she was absolutely, firmly, entrenched in my heart (Reg is still reserving judgement). I didn’t want to let her go so that she’d have to start trusting all over again so I applied to adopt her. Luckily I made the grade and failed all in the same phone call (I was accepted and I failed fostering 101).
Bea has slowly started to emerge. Her tail is up most of the time (it’s a skinny tail with a bend in it). She’s a funny little girl who can be a bit pushy when it comes to food, loves to run (she looks like a greyhound with her long strides and her ears flattened against her head to make her more aerodynamic), follows her brother’s lead when it comes to sniffing those exceptionally good smells, loves to walk and walk and walk, enjoys a car ride, finds a snuggle pleasing, can wrestle a blanket into submission and yesterday chased a ball for the first time. She didn’t bring it back but it’s a start.
Thank you to Terry and Joy and thank you to all the CCRT executive committee for letting Reg and I grow by one more family member.
We adopted Dylan (Rebar) on August 12, 2011 after seeing him on the CCRT adoption site.
After visiting him at the home of his foster mother Kate we decided he was the dog for us. A quick home visit from Christine and Reggie and an even quicker response from Terry and we were on our way to pick him up.
Dylan is very energetic and keeps us active and entertained with his playful behaviour. He enjoys his daily runs in the park and particularly chasing his new ball. At home he likes to play with his toys, chew his knuckle bone, and is very curious about what we are up to at all times.
Dylan has settled in well and we are very happy with him. We would like to thank everyone at the CCRT, especially Terry, Kate, and Christine for making this experience so positive and for giving us this opportunity to give Dylan a new home.

September 2011
It all started Sept. 2. I had clicked on the CCRT website and there he was “MEET VINCENT”. I immediately thought what an adorable little guy. Upon reading his story I fell in love and knew then and there I wanted to adopt him and give him his forever home.
I filled out the online application sent it in by that evening, much to my surprise I received a call from Terry a volunteer from the CCRT. The following day, I spoke to Vincent’s foster mom and then by Sunday we were having a home visit, by Sunday evening we had heard back from Terry saying we had been approved!! What a whirlwind! My husband and I were so happy that they felt the best home would be ours for Vincent!! That following day, Labour Day Monday, we drove the 3 ½ hour drive. To bring Vincent home!!
The genuine love and compassion that these volunteers have, has been so evident. In the speedy work done by all, saving Vincent yet another move (as his foster family were set to go on vacation) from the call going out and Marlin the volunteer, in my area eager to be of assistance. From Terry a volunteer heading up the GTA area, working behind the scenes making phone calls and organizing it all. It was a beautiful experience to be involved with all the way through. I cannot say enough good things about this organization the CCRT. The foster mom Amy, I am so thankful and have so much respect for her and her husband together, they worked rehabilitating Vincent. Giving him a safe, healthy environment in helping him become the dog he was meant to be!! I will be always so thankful for Amy and her continued involvement in Vincents’s life. When Amy placed Vincent in my lap in the car and we pulled out of their driveway the tears came for both of us ! For Amy it was giving Vincent over to his forever family and I seeing the deep love that she had for him and feeling her pain.
Upon arriving into our home (our 2 year old collie, Rhys and our senior, schnauzer, Emma) have completely welcomed him into our pack, ready to help him become a balanced dog.
Vincent is finally home!!
Sincerely,
Carole & Vincent

Today is the one month anniversary of the day Bo joined our family. We are so thankful to Terry and all of the volunteers at the CCRT who helped connect us with Bo.
Bo has become the constant companion of our chihuahua Chico and as you can see from their photos, they happily spend their days wrestling, chasing, goofing around, playing tug-of-war and running together. They are even starting to share a little snuggle when they nap together. They have become best friends and we laugh at their goofiness together every day. They make us smile and they truly are a perfect match for each other (and for us).
We would like to thank Bo's foster parents (Grace and her husband) for supporting Bo to develop the skills to walk on a leash, climb stairs and to be a happy dog. He is now blossoming in his forever home.
